Here’s Harold the Turkey, our Thanksgiving mascot.
Over Thanksgiving I was put in charge of handling “leftover day” and appeasing 25 different people. We had quite the hodge podge of a leftover feast after it was all said and done. We ended up with mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, turkey soup, and a nice salad.

So. This week is my first week starting to work out at CrossFit. I’m really trying to stick pretty closely to relatively strict Paleo so that my body will be in tip-top shape for the onslaught of exercise I’m about to jump into. Basil is easily my favorite part of summer. A pesto is such a delicious and fresh flavor that is perfect for summer time. I have a ton of fresh basil growing in my little urban garden on my balcony which makes pesto a quick (and cheap) marinade for chicken. Continue reading
Nothing says “summer time” better than in-season strawberries! My strawberry plant on my balcony has been going crazy and I had quite a few berries off of it that I needed to use. I grabbed a pack of strawberries from the store too (which were also on sale) so that I would have enough strawberries to make more than one serving. Continue reading
Well, it was (I kid you not) hotter than hell in my apartment last night. I’ve been playing the how-long-can-I-go-without-turning-on-the-air game and last night, I lost.
